50th Shoot Watches and Belt Buckles

Shooters have told me they want to purchase watches and belt buckles for delivery at the shoot in San Antonio.   The opportunity to order these items ends on 1 Nov 2009. Belt buckles will be $30 and watches will be $40. You will need to send me a check for what you want and tell me which watch (left, center, or right).

Want to help AFSA make the 50th shoot better?

Please consider donating silver coins you no longer want to the Association for use at the 50th Shoot. You can send them to Pat:  AFSA. 517 Blands Landing, Hopewell, VA  23860. All donated coins will be used for awards.

2009 SHOOT INFORMATION

100 shooters attended. 12 shooters were welcomed to experience their first ASSC: Don Musser, Jon Meravi, Don Garrison, Walt Jackson, Jerry Coburn, Gene Rea, Dave Sandstrom, Chris Robbins, Phil Bennett, Duke Sultzer, Wiley Adams, and Deak Childress.

The new officers are Pres - COL Scott Rose, VP - Brad Felton, Treas - Pat, and Sec - Clint.

VOICE PULL RELEASES 2/3 to 3/4 of the squads used them. They take some getting used to but work well once you get used to immediate and consistent releases on every call. Minor talking or closing guns does not affect them. Ron Tree of Northwest Shooters Supply was there to keep everything working. Cost is around $1750 per field.

50TH ANNIVERSARY SHOOT

The 50th Shoot will be at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas on 10-14 May 2010. Awards will include 13 Remington 1100s with 50th anniversary logo, 23 engraved knives, 61 leather pouches with belts and logo, nearly 200 belt buckles, nearly 200 watches, and over 100 ounces of silver coins. The banquet door prizes will include an $18,000 Kolar Gun Tube Set with special engraving and case donated by John Ramagli and Kolar Arms.

Do you know a company that might want to donate a door prize or two to the 50th shoot? Please take the time to try to make that happen and tell Pat what you were able to accomplish.

Other special items are planned as well including mouse pads for all along with special participant pins.  Mike Brazzell and Brad Felton have been a huge help with this effort.  Mike needs your input for the AFSA History document that he and Cotton are working on.

SPECIAL INFORMATION

Kolar Arms offers special discounts to Military and Retired Military shooters. They offer a 15 % discount on tube sets and most other items. Special discount pricing is also available on Kolar Shotguns by calling John Ramagli at 1-262-554-0800.

Kolar and Briley have supported our shoot for as many years as I can remember. They are both great companies. Please support them when you get the opportunity.

Remington has provided our award shotguns for a number of years at special prices. They no longer make 1100 Tournament Skeet shotguns. AFSA has always paid for the guns with AFSA funds and donations from service teams and individual shooters.

White Flyer Targets and Phil Murray have developed a special target cost program for AFSA that will allow clubs to purchase targets at lower cost and enable clubs and AFSA to pass that lower cost on to our shooters at the ASSC. White Flyer is donating shoot off targets for the 50th Anniversary Shoot.
